Q: this cold control does not look like the one i have. the one i have does not have a sensor lead and three 110 hook ups but only two are used . unit model p8am-100 it calls for part # 027040-007 not sure if this a replacment part

    This Oasis 027040-007 Cold Control Thermostat (Part #102563) is the correct replacement thermostat for the Oasis P8AM-100.

    All cold control thermostats have a sensor lead on them; that is how the drinking fountain senses the freon. There are different prong styles for different models and some have been updated over time.

Q: What procedure do take to remove old cold control thermostat and what do you do to replace new ?

    A: Unplug the unit from the wall. Pull the electrical leads off of the cold control and trace the metal tube from the cold control to where it goes into a small copper tube. Gently pull on the metal tube to remove it from the copper tube. Next remove the two screws that hold the cold control onto the unit. Do the steps in reverse order to put in the new cold control.
